Tapping for Sexual Assault
The current, collective discussion happening in the US about women and how they have been treated by some men has the potential to be transformational. It also can be triggering and unsettling for those of us who’ve experienced first-hand sexual violence and assault and still carry the energetic wounds. As my readers know, EFT helps. (Other modalities too that work with the energetic bodies.)
Those of us who’ve done our work in this area can hold the space for our collective healing. I have a few suggestions. However, if you are feeling personally triggered, take care of yourself first. There are plenty of others who can hold the larger space and you don’t have to sacrifice yourself for the sake of the other.
I am so grateful to all my tapping friends who have dealt with their own trauma so they can help the larger field. I have no doubt that we can make a difference with our skillful work within the larger field, however that unfolds. Tapping + intention + experience = a whole lot of relief!
- Watch Michelle Obama’s recent New Hampshire talk and tap while she talks. 3:25
- Spend a few minutes slowly reading the twitter thread #ithappenedtome and tap on the intensity you notice.
- Reach out to someone who know is struggling and offer a hand.
- Write or share your own experiences and your healing journey.
We don’t have to fix this for anyone, but we can make a difference as we honor the larger healing that is happening.
Love to all,
